I’m not finding much time to blog lately. It seems when I do find the time to sit down and write, I’m just not in the mood and inspiration evades me. But I do have a couple things to talk about whirling around in my head, so I thought I’d just throw it out there. See what sticks, so to speak.
“Democratic Socialism”. Not a fan. And it appalls me how many of my lovely Facebook friends are totally ok with and promoting this idea. I want to ask them, so if we democratically decide to socialize let’s say child raising…then will you be ok with it? If we all democratically decide that women with breast cancer are a drain on the socialized health care of the state and that they should not be allowed the cures and treatment to try and heal them and keep them alive, will you be ok with it? That’s how this “democratic socialism” works. The majority of voters decide what and how the state does things. The minority is just out of luck. Right now they believe that the minority (the richest people in our country) don’t deserve what they have and it should be taken and split up among the majority of us poor people. Right now you are in the majority, so it’s ok. What happens when you are not? We really need to think this through.
What makes me crazy is that people blame our country’s problems on Capitalism, Free Markets, and our Constitution. Since the 30’s and 40’s, we haven’t been using those. We’ve been slowly moving towards this lovely Socialism you speak of and IT is what is failing. Having more of it, will only cause more problems. It’s been tried all over the world. It starts small, grows large, and then starts killing people and crushing lives.
And on that same idea I was thinking the other day while I was doing the dishes. I know! Those who see political solutions to problems by making laws are taking the easy way out or getting a short term fix. But they are creating bigger and more complex problems for the long term. Those who come up with political solutions, generally, are trying to use you. They aren’t doing it in an evil way, usually. It’s just what happens.
That’s all I have for now. Happy Monday!
