The most common form of creativity, the one that we all should be using daily and that propels our culture forward most, is not the kind that creates something entirely new, but that which finds new and innovative ways to use old things, things already created. It builds on what already exists or changes it in some small way that makes it even better than before. It’s what was meant by Isaac Newton when he said, “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.”
